Parking Guidance System works to alleviate congestion by quickly and efficiently guiding drivers to the first available parking space. No more circling aisles or aimlessly guessing which structure has an available space. Thanks to individual bay monitoring, accurate space availability is broadcast to drivers on signs from as far out as the freeway, guiding them to the structure, level, and aisle with available space, ultimately highlighting open spots with a green light illuminated above the parking bay.

The applications for parking guidance are endless, whether you are an airport trying to maximize occupancy, a university looking to reduce carbon emissions, a mall looking to minimize the time shoppers spend in the parking lot so you can maximize their time in the stores, or a paid parking with all same reason as above.

How it works...

Parking Guidance System monitors individual parking space occupancy data, guiding drivers to the closest available parking structure and space by visually communicating availability to drivers. A fully customizable system, Parking Guidance System can be as nominal as monitoring occupancy and as expansive as informing drivers from nearby freeways or major arterials. Approach:

Getting Drivers to the Structure(s)

External signs, often referred to as way finding or variable message signs (VMS) signs, are located strategically along local freeways and arterials to inform motorists of parking structure availability upon approach.

Structure Entry:

Communicating Structure Availability

Entry signs placed at main entrances inform drivers of structure availability by level. Available as variable message signs or a hybrid of static and variable, the signs offer complete flexibility in managing space availability from the entrance of the structure.

Floor Level & Rows

Guiding Drivers to Open Spaces

Overhead level and aisle boards visually communicate space availability to patrons at key decision points throughout the structure, guiding them along their route to an open parking space.

Individual Spaces

Lighting Space Availability

Colored LED sensors above each parking bay clearly indicate space availability, green for available and red for occupied, so drivers can quickly and easily identify open spaces. No more speeding to a space only to discover it’s taken!

Benefits for Management, Patrons, and the Environment

No matter the primary goal of your parking operation, the benefits of parking guidance are undeniable.  A parking guidance system that functions through individual space detection and management will help increase patron satisfaction and provide accurate real-time occupancy information for easy management, all while helping dramatically reduce the environmental impact of your structure.

Increase Management Efficiency:

**Boost Revenue & Occupancy

By monitoring each individual parking bay, verses utilizing loop counters at just the entrances and exits, McCain's Parking Guidance System provides management with upwards of 99% accurate, real-time space counts.  No more guessing at when the structure is full or turning away patrons when there are still open spaces. By maximizing use of available spaces, you can increase turn-over and boost revenue.

Increase Patronage:

**Create Happy, Repeat Customers

All of us, regardless of our professional affiliations, are consumers of parking and as such grow frustrated and impatient when it comes to the endless search for parking. Parking guidance combats lines, congestion, and bottlenecks, easily guiding drivers to the first available parking space. What consumer wouldn't love that? Create happy drivers and increase patronage by making your facility more sought-after than the competition.

Reduce Emissions:

**Promote Sustainability for Future Generations

Those idling vehicles that plague our parking structures emit 20 times more pollution than those travelling at 30 mph, making the parking industry an often overlooked contributor to our nation’s mounting pollution problem. Reducing the amount of time spent searching for parking, directly reduces those harmful emissions – up to 55,000 pounds per day per parking structure!
